This is the first piece of a new exploration for me, mixing shapes with art. The large shape of the wood inlay allows the luster and character of the different species to shine, while the carved and painted artwork of the Whale gives a focus for the piece. This work is oak with walnut inlay, painted with metallic paint, and finished with tung oil.
